Thankful For...
** The yearly Marin County Fair, San Rafael, CA**
These days, I am thankful for...
...a healthy baby, who rarely cries and who loves to go out. I thought taking him out would be too inconvenient but he just loves it.
...a long weekend. The extra day off doesn't count much for me because I'm still on leave, but having Charles around the house makes a lot of difference.
...funnel cakes and smoked turkey legs at the county fair. Been a while since I had them. They're sinfully good!
...spectacular fireworks also at the county fair, which is very close to our place. We don't have to drive to the city to see the 4th of July fireworks.
...my mom's delicious puto maya, sweet mangoes and hot sikwati.
...a not-so-hot summer weather. The last few days, it's been warm during the mid-day and a little chilly in the early morning and late afternoon. Just the way I like it!
...finally nailing down the date and time for Lucas' Christening. After going back and forth with the church, we finally settled on the schedule that works for both.

Hi Liz! i love the photos, esp the fairground one=) its one of those photos that you see in books and fairground scenes from movies=)
your list of wonderful things are so tempting, esp the puto maya from your mom...=)
and did i tell you i love the name Lucas? my brother whose wife is pregnant said that if they were having a boy they were naming it Lucas but they just found out its a girl=)
keep the beautiful photos coming Liz=)
Thank you Cinds! Practice nasad ko sa akong night shots metering. Fireworks are kind of challenging for me, but some of the photos turned out ok.
Thank you Mai! Puto maya and sikwati make me miss home. Makakaon lang ko kung naa akong mom.
I got lucky on these firework photos cuz! Some of them turned out blurry or shaky, some didn't capture the right colors. Good thing medyo dugay nahuman ang fireworks so I had the chance to try on different settings.
Salamat Chel! Like you, I've always loved the name Lucas. Lucy nalang for your niece, hehe!
Congrats diay to your brother and sis-in-law! Are they the ones whose wedding Aileen photographed? They are beautiful people--I'm sure they are going to have a beautiful baby girl! :-)

i love your list. labi na on food and lucas. may you always be blessed with more of them. (apil the fireworks)
Thank you Ai! When I saw the giant wheel, I remembered your photo of the observation wheel in Singapore and I thought "I should take a photo similar to that..." =)
Chi, wala diay fair diha? Actually, I never went to fairs until last year when Jim took us to Sonoma County fair. Lingaw man diay, so this year we didn't miss Marin's and it didn't disappoint. Glad they had fireworks too! Lucas loved it--nagsiga gyud iyang mata! I thought the sound of fireworks would frighten him but it didn't bother him at all!
