The Quickening

It started as tiny little flutters
as if something or someone is tickling me lightly from the inside
like real butterflies in my stomach
I felt it briefly...and then again...and again
It caught me by surprise
but then disappeared before I had the chance to feel it with my hands
It was something different
something I had never felt before
And then I knew it was Him!

For the first time today
I felt my baby move
I felt the quickening!

congratulations liz! you write very well, and you wrote exactly what and how i felt when i first felt my babies move. and it is even extra special the first time because it catches you by surprise, and then, you feel like you're light as a feather from being so high. the next time is still exciting, but you somehow know the feeling...not as surprising anymore...but just as magical anyway. ENJOY YOU'RE PREGNANCY. you truly have the glow.

after quickenings, you'll have movements here and there. you will feel elbows and heel of a feet and even toes. you will feel hiccups, too.

i've always wanted to have a picture of me preggy. but, my god, the stretch marks won't be a welcoming site.

i miss being here.

I actually wanted to wait until my tummy gets bigger, but I was afraid I'd get stretch marks too! I'm really hoping I won't get them at all :-)

what a motherly photo... beautiful! where is your tummy??? you don't have one. take another one probably around 28-30wks [i think those are the perfect pregnant belly for photoshoot].

try to keep rubbing cocoa butter everyday liz, it will mostly help... if stretch marks run in your family - you may get it. but hey, don't worry if you get one - i don't think that will be a great deal for you [or so i think]. what matters is a healthy baby and mommy, right - i just want to make you feel good.

you take care pregnant mama.

Thanks Dee! I've just started rubbing tummy butter--I really hope it helps. Otherwise, that's fine. You're right--I am mostly concerned about a healthy me and a healthy baby. I just won't be taking photos of my tummy anymore, hehe.

About This Blog

I got interested in photography when I met my husband. He loved photography since the 80's when he owned a Canon AE1 SLR camera. When we got married, we met a great photographer who inspired me even more. I started taking photos when my husband and I got our DSLR camera back in 2005. I never really shared my photos. But lately, I've been introduced to photoblogging and I saw it to be a great way of expression. My photos are amateur but I hope to learn more as I blog and connect with people.
